So I tasted it last night.
The makers of Garlic Gold suggest sprinkling the nuggets on veggies and I usually do what I’m told, so…..
Those little nuggets have a LOT of FLAVOR! I could’ve eaten the whole jar, I’m so serious! These were the Sea Salt ones. Soooooo good! Did you know that even Emeril can’t live without this stuff?
True story. Check it out HERE!
I find the story of Garlic Gold’s beginnings very fascinating.
“In late 2002 an itch for entrepreneurship, a love of garlic and cooking, plus frequent requests for "that garlic thing," was all it took to breathe life into the company Seven Oaks Ranch, Inc. Seven Oaks Ranch is the proud manufacturer of Garlic Gold® and other gourmet, USDA certified organic food products. One of the fastest growing organic food companies, it all began as an 8th grade economics class project for Orion Brutoco and his classmates at Oak Grove school in Ojai, CA. Orion’s dad, Seven Oaks Founder and serial entrepreneur Rinaldo Brutoco, got involved. The project, (the creation of a business plan), quickly grew in to something more. Starting with imagination and a lot of energy, the 8th graders turned Rinaldo’s recipe for a home-made condiment that people had enjoyed in the Brutoco’s home for years into a real business. The original product was a combination of hand crafted, crunchy, toasted garlic nuggets and first cold pressed organic extra-virgin olive oil, which the 8th graders hand bottled and labeled.
A farmer’s market stand, opened and operated by the 8th graders, soon led to rave reviews—“It’s Crunchy!”— and greater opportunity. In March of 2003, national distribution was obtained through the largest organic produce distributor in the country, Albert’s Organics. Since that time, through the dedication of countless individuals, Garlic Gold® has grown to be carried by more than 2500 retailers across the country. Still hand crafted with the same love and energy as the first batch made by 8th graders experiencing entrepreneurship for the first time, Garlic Gold® has now grown in to a fixture in homes across America. Garlic Gold’s® products have become a favorite of world renowned foodies and food bloggers, including David Rosengarten, Chef Emeril and Kath Younger. We proudly produce a line of products that top everything but dessert – although we have seen people use our products on chocolate! The company, true to it’s enthusiastic roots in the heart of 8th grade students, has grown into a values-based business recognized as one of the Top 20 Organic companies by Ode Magazine, and a leading innovator in the natural and organics industry.”
So there ya go. Other than the hub complaining mildly about my garlic breath last night, I am SO sold on making Garlic Gold a new permanent kitchen staple around here!
Wanna try it? You can order it right from my very own Seriously Sassy Stuff shop on Open Sky! How cool is that?!
…. Along with da green beans, I made some pecan-crusted chicken that was very easy (can you tell I love easy recipes?) and very tasty! The breading mixture called for mostly regular bread crumbs but I didn’t want that much gluten, so I added some corn meal to the mix. Also in the mix: parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper and finely-chopped PECANS! The nutty flavor added a lot of yumminess to the breading!
Not sure why the chicken picture is so blurry…. but you get the idea. 🙂
Right now I’m feeling like this.
Wicked allergies still have my head feeling like it’s in a vacuum. Can’t breathe through my nose, the right side of my throat hurts so bad that the pain radiates all the way to my right ear. Yeah. Fun stuff. So today is all about TV and vegging.
Not my top choice of things to watch but we make concessions when we have to.
Jacob’s currently teaching Liss how to play Indiana Jones – the Lego version on the PlayStation. It’s rather entertaining. 😉
Lissy’s buddy Jacob has a lot of people tell him he looks like Justin Bieber and he’s less than crazy about that. Ha! I’ll let you be the judge.
I can kinda see it. A little. I must admit that every time Jacob comes around, I start singing “Ohh like baby, baby, baby…..”
At any rate, it sure is great to have him around to help entertain our Blondie-butt. I think it’s super cool that a 4-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy can be such good buds. 🙂
I hope you’re having a good weekend. It’s cloudy here in the Chi and I heard some more thunder-boomers this morning. Perfect day to stay in and figure out what book I’m gonna read now that I finished this one:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading. See ya Monday!
***** QUESTION FOR YOU: What’s your best allergy/sinus junk remedy?
I love garlic and use it in just about everything I make. Thanks so much for the product info,Ill definately try it out.
You’re welcome! I hope you like it as much as I do! 🙂
I got stared on the neti pot when I was preggers. It made me feel so good (for a bit, then I had to do it again). You can pick one up anywhere. Had the hubs grab one for me at Walgreens.
I like garlic , I use it a lot.
I hate allergies, my allergy to ragweed has been horrendous!
Since my allergy symptoms are watery eyes and sinus congestion, I use either Claritin-D or Sudafed taken along with Tylenol either works well with my allergies.
Wen–
Thank you for being YOU!! You are amazing!!
Garlic is a STAPLE in this house!!
We are a Claritin, Sudafed, Benadryl (at night), Zytrec family–Which ever it calls for. 🙂
